March 30th is National Doctor’s Day!

There is not much need to explain the reason doctors should be valued and appreciated. Purely, their career is focused on countless hours of research, the day-to-day practice of saving lives, 
delivering babies, and helping people maintain and restore their minds and/or bodies back to health. Ironically, because most people are privileged to have easy access to doctors, along with our acknowledgement of doctors having an honorable and many times well paying career, we frequently forget the simple value of thanks and gratitude.
Fortunately, in 1933, just a few doctor’s wives who knew and understood the regular sacrifice of a doctor’s lifestyle, put together a luncheon to create National Doctors’ Day. This day was established to recognize physicians, their work, and their contributions to society and the community . This tradition has continued in practice ever since. The holiday was officially signed into U.S. law in the early 1990s by President George Bush to be acknowledged on March 30th of each year.
Today, hospitals may commemorate this day through various work perks for doctors such as luncheons, gifts, or pampering. Even Hallmark has joined the movement by creating cards to help people in the celebration of this day.
